Amidst all the presidential election hoopla, let’s not forget that you can also vote with your dollar.
That got a whole lot easier with the launch of WorldofGood.com, an online marketplace of products that you will not only NEED to own/wear/give/covet, but are also good for people (like the people who produced them) and the planet.
Each product is labeled with a Goodprint, kind of like a nutrition label that tells you about the product’s impact.
For example, I have an awesome messenger bag made by the same folks who made the striped bags you see in the photo above. Check this Goodprint: It was made by women artisans in India who are paid a fair wage. It’s also made of recycled plastic bags that once littered in the streets of Delhi. And it looks pretty hott on me (that may not be on the Goodprint – but it should be).
How do I know for sure that the Goodprint is accurate? Because all that goodness is backed by third party verifiers like Rainforest Alliance and Fair Trade Certified.
So now you have it – a ton of unique, functional, and stylish products from around the world, all good, backed by experts.
I’m not saying you should thank me when you get your credit card bill, but if you think of it, you have to buy a gift for Mom or dishes for the new apartment anyway. Might as well vote with your dollar and purchase things that make the world a little bit better.
(In the spirit of transparency, I work for World of Good, Inc.)
