I'll be really honest -- the idea of discussing this movie and auction sounded really fun a week ago. My four nephews and niece can't wait to see Kung Fu Panda. But that was before the horrible earthquake hit China on Monday.
Perhaps your children don't understand what has happened in China.
Perhaps this movie is a way to ease into that difficult conversation.
Perhaps showing where pandas live on a map might be a good way to show them what is going on right now.
The benefiting nonprofit of these auctions addresses the fate of endangered pandas in southwest China. The same area that is currently devastated.
This auction gives you the chance to bid on:
A trip to the premiere or a hometown screening for you and your friends. And here's a list of nonprofits that are working to help the Chinese people during this disaster.

what an interesting spin on the movie... I watched a documentary on the earthquake this morning... it wasn't easy watching the parents of the burried school children broken hearted and devasted that their only child was trapped underground... where day by day their probability of survival diminishes....
please help....
