It's a number you may have never dialed before and I hope in your lifetime you never feel the need to. But every 84 seconds, someone calls 1-800-SUICIDE.
And while we never know the names or identities of those who call in seeking help, I imagine that my sister may have been one of them -- or at least should have been one of them. She took her own life in 2004 at the age of 30 so this is personal to me.
