Alicia Keys, Seventeen’s July cover girl, uses her voice for more than just great music! She also speaks out by working with Keep A Child Alive,” an HIV/AIDS charity foundation, giving life-saving medication to families in Africa.
Through a documentary film narrated by Alicia called Alicia in Africa, the singing sensation takes you first-hand into the AIDS problem where fewer than 5 percent of infected children have access to antiretroviral drugs!
Watch the film below and upload a response on the Alicia in Africa Web site!

This is wonderful! I think Americans tend to forget about a lot of the on going tragedies in the world since we're so privileged in so many ways, so I think it's great when celebrities use their star power to garner attention toward important issues. :] Go Alicia! She's wonderful!

I sometimes wonder if people have forgotten about HIV/AIDS. I don't, I live in San Francisco that has wonderful organizations that support people afflicted. But Alicia isn't visiting San Francisco...which has so many places to turn for help. She's in Africa. "Keep A Child Alive" is such an awesome nonprofit, and it's sad when she says "do we care about a whole generation being wiped out". You're so right, @$#$# celebrity drama, why do we care about that? We should be caring about those children in that video, about our neighbors, etc.
