Let me start by giving a short debrief of my life in the past month.
The end of last month saw eBay Live! in Chicago come and go, of which I do all the staffing for both eBay Customer Support centers (about 210 people attend). We had our CEO visit both centers and I had to be on-site in each center for those tours (more flying), plus work to plan the annual Canada Day BBQ in Vancouver during the visit. Luckily I had my awesome coordinator helping me in Vancouver with that one.
During the meetings, movers were at my apartment packing up all our stuff and the Sunday following I jumped into a rental car with a 7 month pregnant wife and 2 cats and drove to SLC (It was not as bad as it sounds). Whew.....let me catch my breath...... I didn't have any time to unpack in SLC as we had to plan employee all-hands meetings in both SLC and Vancouver for the following week, so my wife was stuck at home with all the boxes while I did a meeting here and then flew back to Vancouver the next day (can't keep me away long). I jumped on a 5:40am flight home last friday in order to make it to our first doctor's appointment with our new baby doctor here in SLC and now, 5 days later, finally found a free minute to blog.
So I am now based in Salt Lake City and have been saving up all my stories until I can find time to breathe and possibly begin writing again. You thought you were rid of me, but it's not that easy!!
By the way....I have a confession to make....I gave in and accepted the upgrade to a SUV at the rental car place. They are apparently giving those things away to anyone who will take them these days. I must admit, it really made the move a lot more comfortable, but I am a bit ashamed. However, I have taken transit and walked everywhere for the past 4 years, so I guess I can give off a little CO2...right? (there you go JD, make excuses)
Anyway.....that's my life in a nutshell for the past month. A big thanks to my fellow bloggers for writing double time in my absence.
Do something and do it now,
JD
