Happy Birthday Giving Works.
You have done so much more to better this world than most other 5 year olds.
Those other 5 year olds are so selfish....it's always, "mine, mine, mine" with them.
I personally wouldn't eat it, but I can definitely see multiple reasons why it would be a good thing. Obviously, it eliminates animal suffering (or does it? How do you create meat without technically creating an animal? Meat is animal tissue and muscle) Another huge factor is that it would eliminate the need to devote millions of pounds of grain used to feed cattle which could go elsehwere to feed the starving of the world instead. Plus, it sure would cut back on the methane gases the extreme overabundance of cattle in the world produces. But.....it would also put a lot of cattle farmers out of work....which is fine by me, but in this world of ours, we tend to make a lot of dumb decisions based solely on economic impacts.
Great post Hannah. When i first read about this challenge, I really had to ponder whether or not I'd eat it, because like Kristina above....I too love the multiple meat alternatives available these days.
i always feel so bad when I see all the books i've already read just sitting there on the shelf collecting dust. the book industry has got to be one of the largest users of paper (next to newspapers), they should be responsible and cover the footprints they are making on the earth. I love hearing about what this organization is doing.
I cannot begin to tell you how many free XL shirts I have that I will never wear; it is so frustrating. Most of them end up in a thrift store somewhere because they get donated or they sit on the floor of my closet until I throw them out. There is so much marketing money wasted on printing and giving away shirts that don't fit people. Marketers.....if you want peole to be seen wearing your logo then give them stuff that fits!!!!
This is great stuff Tiana. I've worked with the National Ability Center here in Utah which does activities like snow skiing, horseback riding, river rafting, etc and for some reason wheelchair bound people surfing never crossed my mind. I would love to come to one of these events (and help out) if I am ever out that way.
As far as summer music goes....I usually hate reggee, but there is something about the summer months that makes it okay.
And as odd as it sounds, every time I hear "You spin me Round" by Dead or Alive I have major summer flashbacks. "Summertime", as you mentioend, should be on everyone's list. Another band i recommend for summer is The English Beat.
Love it!!!
Gave me the tingles and that is always a good thing.
It's amazing the difference one tiny thing can make, most of us don't realize it because we don't live in poverty or wonder when our next meal will come. When you see what a tiny donation can do in the long run it really puts things into perspective for you.

"Drugs Don't work" was always one of my faves.
We used to listen to that album on repeat every morning at an old job I had right out of high school.

This song is on a Telus commercial up here in Canada. I love it as well but never knew who sang it. Now I do thanks to you. :)
