Standing Tall

By Tiana on August 28 2008 at 12:25 PM

Standing Tall

In recent years death has been a prominent force in my life. If I am not losing someone, someone close to me is. My first cancer related death, was—silly enough—the death of my childhood dog. I took her to the vet one day and she had lumps in her breasts. They told me she didn't have very much time and she literally deteriorated in a week. I will never forgot the pain I felt when I lost her.

I am taking a stand for my friend's mother Midori and my uncle's good friend Bernice (who both lost their battles to breast cancer), as well as a close family friend named Mark (who is battling a very rare and cancerous blood disease). I've never been very good with death, whether it hit near or far, and I want nothing but the best for their loved ones. Bernice started her battle young and lost it in her mid-thirties and Midori battled it for about ten years. Cancer is something that leaves me feeling helpless and speechless in a time when I wish I could provide something comforting. The best I can do is hold their loved ones hand and provide a shoulder to cry on. I've learned that the simple act of being there is more than enough for anyone experiencing grief or who is in mourning. The relationship between Midori and her daughter (and my friend, Asuka) inspired to write a prose poem I am very proud of. I tried to make it pretty and presentable when I gave it to their family, which is pictured above.

So let's kick cancer's a$$! By now you should know what to do, so start selling, making donations or contributing in any way you can to help us STAND UP 2 CANCER!

They Will Surf Again!

By Tiana on July 18 2008 at 12:00 PM

They Will Surf Again!

I work with a wonderful non-profit organization called Life Rolls On, whose aim is to raise funds and awareness towards spinal cord injury related research and programs. July is always busy for us so I wanted to share a few events we have lined up!

They Will Surf Again - Saturday, July 19 - Zuma Beach, CA (Malibu)
They Will Surf Again is a no-cost program designed to enhance the quality of life of young people with spinal cord injuries by providing them with the opportunity to surf. This Saturday (July 19) we will be teaming up with Nike and Hurley on Zuma Beach (Malibu) at 9:00 AM between the Lifeguard Headquarters and Tower 6. I encourage you to come see what we're all about! Don't feel bad if you can't make it this weekend as we have events on both coasts throughout the year. We are set to have one August 9th at Little Island Park, Virginia Beach and will be back on the west coast August 16th at Bolsa Chica State Beach, CA (Tower 21). If you are interested in participating please register today! I will definitely keep you updated! In the meantime please watch this wonderful video about our program.

10th Anniversary Golf Tournament presented by Disaboom - Malibu
On Monday July 21st Disaboom will host our 10th Anniversary Gold Tournament at the Malibu Country Club. This year promises to take the LRO Golf Tournament experience to a whole new level with fantastic prizes for the winning teams, an opportunity drawing featuring awesome items, and--most importantly--a fun filled day of golf for a wonderful cause! If you are interested in playing there may be a few slots open so sign up! There may still be opportunities to volunteer as well. Please contact me if you are interested! There are various shifts from 8AM to 6PM in registration, on-course assistance, and breakdown.

Honda US Open of Surfing presented by O'Neill - Huntington Beach
I look forward to this event every year! I love working the Life Rolls On Booth and we have once again been named the official charity of the US Open of Surfing! We will have a booth in the Festival Village this coming Thursday (July 24) - Sunday (July 27) just South of the Huntington Beach Pier. We will be running the LRO Prize Wheel, promoting LRO gear and informing people about our cause. There may still be opportunities to volunteer (especially Thursday and Friday) during various shifts from 7:30AM-5PM. Please register and give me a heads up! We will also be hosting an Expression Session on Saturday July 26 at 1:50PM. The Life Rolls On Expression Session presented by Disaboom features LRO Ambassadors (including Jesse Billauer) charging waves along-side some of the best surfers in the world. Do not miss out!

I hope you will be able to check us out, but if you can't make it to these events we will definitely have more in the future. This charity means a lot to me and they are all such inspiring individuals. They impress me with their unique programs and goals and I have never seen so much effort to enhance the lives of people living with spinal cord injuries by getting them back into active sports and defying the notion that disabilities limit people. Spinal cord injury is something that had received little attention until a little over 10 years ago, thanks to the amazing Christopher Reeve, and so much has been done since then. If we continue to work together I can only imagine what wonderful things will come in the next 10 years.

Top 5 - Week 7

Happy Friday! I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet:

1. So unless you live on a remote island with no wireless signal you know that the newest iPhone model came out today. I'm slightly jealous if you got one, just because I can't decide if it's worth switching providers for it. I don't know if I'd prefer a Blackberry or an iPhone, so I think I'm going to get a Blackberry for now and switch if and when the time is right. :) I am the worst when it comes to making decisions that are going to affect me for years, even if it's a cell phone contract! An iPhone would easily find it's way into my life since I have a Mac, but I don't know how I feel about the touch keyboard. I want to be able to type up long articles, papers and research things for them on my phone, being able to easily copy and paste things. I just don't know. I don't like predictive text! I've read so many articles comparing the two. Help!

2. I love stumbling across funny, inspiring and random videos online. I have a few favorites right now I'd like to share:

ImprovEverywhere - Human Mirror
Conan O'Brien's 2000 Harvard Speech
Tim Minchin - Canvas Bags
Mr. W!
TECHNO CHICKEN!

3. I'm going to see Coldplay on Tuesday and am VERY excited! So excited that I'm getting everyone within reach hooked on them (right Roman?). Not only are they wonderful musicians but they are also involved with and support various charities and causes; in 2003 they promoted and supported the Make Trade Fair campaign while on tour. I've adored Coldplay's music since I first stumbled across "Yellow" and have so many favorites now. It's going to be interesting having it all come to life since I have always wanted to see them live but never had the chance until now. Thanks Seth! :)

4. I don't know what it is about shoes but they make me so happy. I am a bargain shopper too so if I find shoes on sale I'm on cloud nine. I think I found the perfect pair of boots and I am going to make them mine! =] And why must Betsy Johnson do this to me?

5. My parents LOVED The X-Files, so I watched it with them and grew up fearing aliens were going to abduct me in the middle of the night. But I still love Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, and think this auction is awesome. There are three auctions up for the Los Angeles premiere of the new film--The X-Files: I Want to Believe. It premieres in Hollywood on July 23rd at Grauman's Chinese Theater. It includes a meet and greet with Gillian Anderson before the film and is benefiting Neurofibromatosis, Inc., and Artists for A New South Africa (ANSA). There is also an auction for the London premier if you will be in the area and there is another auction for 2 tickets to see Gillian on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on July 22, 2008 (which also includes a meet and greet). Don't miss out! Check out all of the auctions here!

Have a happy weekend!

Premiere and After Party Tickets for the Dark Knight anyone!?

Of all the superhero tales, I have always had an affinity toward Batman. I cannot wait for "The Dark Knight" to come out! I already have the evening planned with seats at a local Imax Theater! I loved Batman Begins and was excited when I first heard about "The Dark Knight" going into production. I was even more ecstatic to learn Heath Ledger would play the infamous Joker. I had always admired Heath's talent and versatile acting style so I am eager to see his take on our favorite villain.

eBay Giving Works has an amazing auction up! You still have one day to bid for an exclusive chance to win FOUR Premiere AND After Party Tickets for "The Dark Knight!"--one of the most anticipated premieres of 2008! The latest installment of the Batman series premieres at IMAX Loews Lincoln Square in New York City on Monday, July 14 at 7 p.m. The winning bidder and three guests will also earn access to the exclusive after party at the Mandarin Oriental Ballroom on the 36th Floor!

So not only will you be at the very first showing and possibly brush elbows with Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine or Morgan Freeman, but you'll also get to party in style AND benefit Plan!t Now who is hosting the auction! Do not let this opportunity pass you by! Any New Yorker (or person able to round up some friends and head that way) would be quite lucky to pick these up!!!

Top 5 - Week 6

By Tiana on July 4 2008 at 9:05 AM

Cheers to a wonderful 3-day weekend! 4-day for some lucky ones. =] There are many reasons to be happy today:

1. Happy Fourth of July! I'm glad I'm feeling better because I'm ready for some BBQ, time with friends, and want to watch some fireworks over the ocean. Please have good, safe fun!

2. I'm not sick anymore! I have been in bed all week. I usually don't get sick, but when I do I am a big fat baby. I tried teas and fluids and fruit and veggies (when I had an appetite) but nothing seemed to work. The only thing I wanted was phở, so after satiating that craving and watching Wall-E with a good friend I am feeling much better. =] Yesterday my roommate kindly gave me some medicine that I thought was non-drowsy. I misread it and, in my desperation to feel better, took it right before I went to class. I stopped by Starbucks for a Spinach Feta Wrap (SO DELICIOUS!) and couldn't even make it halfway to class. I stumbled back to my bed and fell asleep for a few more hours.

3. I'm going to see Coldplay in less than two weeks! I'm so excited! I absolutely adore their music and to hear it live will bring so much to life. There are many other concerts I'm excited about this summer and it's really nice to go to a show again. I think the last real concert I went to was John Mayer and that was in December! Far too long. I can't wait for Mike Einziger's special End.>Vaccum show either (he gives insight into the name of the project around 10:39)! Did you know he was accepted to Harvard to study music? I love that the members of Incubus don't just stop at creating wonderful music. They are incredibly philanthropic, eco-friendly and pursue the other loves of their lives. So many reasons why they're my favorites. =]

4. I have always had a fascination with surf culture and the peaceful feeling when at/in the ocean, so I'm really excited that the US Open of Surfing is coming up soon too. I look forward to helping out, watching competitions and meeting new people each year. Speaking of the ocean, I bought a really cool Twister beach towel at Target for only $10!!! They also have a Tic Tac Toe, Checkers and a few others neat towels. Pick one up!

5. I've had a few more opportunities presented to me to work with children in the coming school year and that really excites me. I love molding young minds and being a positive influence in their lives.

Okay I'll stop there, but make sure you follow my links. I love Google. I find some pretty random links through it. =] Okay--I'm starvin'!

Peace, love and good health to you and yours this sun-shiny weekend!

-Tiana

Lunch with Warren: 2,110,100.00 DOLLARS (gratuity always included)!

The annual eBay Giving Works auction "Power Lunch With Warren Buffett" managed by Kompolt has concluded with a record breaking bid of $2,110,100.00! This tops last year's previous high mark of 650K! This also surpasses the previous record of 2,100,000 for an eBay Giving Works auction!

So in addition to getting a fancy power lunch with the financial genius at Smith and Wollensky in NYC, the winner is also contributing to a lot of GOOD!

The Glide Foundation, which is run by Rev. Cecil Williams (a national leader on the forefront of social change), has been helping the San Francisco community for 40 years now. From providing meals to those in poverty to empowering individuals to get the training needed for a living wage job (and providing that training), Glide is very much the spirit of SF. From helping individuals like Enrique bounce back from devastating loses and providing those like Larry with an outlet for their philanthropic passions, the Glide Foundation provides a close-knit community that people from all walks of life can thrive in.

For those of you who couldn't fork out the cash for a dinner this time around, perhaps donating to Glide, cooking yourself a steak (or a delicious tofu/soy based dish :)), and youtube-ing Warren Buffett speeches/interviews will make you feel just as GOOD. A donation of $25 dollars will provide 2 hot meals a day for a whole week to a homeless senior.

There are also many wonderful opportunities to work with Glide as a volunteer, so if you're in the San Fransisco area reach out! You can find details here, and Glide will also be hosting a Pride Weekend Festival and money raised from the various activities will benefit their HIV/AIDS and Health Services. You don't have to break your bank to make a difference; your time is just as important. :)

Top 5 - Week 5 (after a week off)

By Tiana on June 24 2008 at 12:58 AM

Top 5 - Week 5 (after a week off)

Has it really been a month since I’ve been Top-5ing?! ☺ Why yes, yes it has. Happy Monday! I would’ve posted sooner but last week was full of transitions that kept me super busy. Let’s do this:

1. Congratul-8-tions to the class of 2008—pre-school, elementary school, middle school, high school and college! I went to my friend's English Department graduation at UCLA and lo and behold James Franco was also walking the stage! I didn't know he was also a creative writer and hoped to pursue an MFA. I'd love to workshop with him one day. I wanted to see my friends walk at their universities in Northern California, but I'm sure they were too busy being enlightened by their commencement speaker—Oprah—and making speeches of their own. ☺

2. Now that its summer I kind of have more time to read whatever I want, so I've taken up quite a few. There are what I’m starting with:

Dubliners by James Joyce
America's Best Short Stories 2007 by Stephen King
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
Yes Man by Danny Wallace

My Amazon shopping list of books to read is endless. If I were a super hero, I'd want my super power to be able to touch any book and acquire all of its data, and be able to search for whatever answer I want and find it. Basically I want my mind to be the ultimate search engine data base. Paper beats rock and brains most definitely beat brute any day in my book!

Also, since it’s summer, my friends feel compelled to prevent me from falling into my workaholic tendencies and take me on spontaneous adventures. We were hanging out in Long Beach last night and when we left the bar my friends decided we should go check out Laguna Beach since we’ve never been down to the actual water. It was midnight. So we drive down. It just so happened that the grunions were hatching so we got to watch them flap back out into the ocean. Then they couldn’t remember where Pacific Coast Highway ended so they decided to find out. We followed it to a path that led us back on the 405S and ended up heading down to San Diego. I’m in and out of sleep at this point. Once there they decided the only reasonable thing to do at 3 o’clock in the morning was to go ghost hunting, so the first thing that pops up on my friend’s iPhone was “screaming” tree. We drive down to the creepy, isolated hills on the outskirts of San Diego, and I wake up in the car at 4:15am to us driving past an abandoned slaughterhouse down a very narrow dirt road toward a sole tree standing alone in a clearing. It was creepy. After that freaky encounter I directed them to my favorite optical illusion—gravity hill. We let the car roll backwards a good three times. ☺

The sheer randomness of this account has inspired me to write a story, if not my own slasher film. We’ll see if this goes anywhere. ☺

3. eBay Live! was last week and I was painfully jealous :) I will make it in 2010 (Orlando). I must! I love this year's location, CHICAGO ! The Navy Pier and the water surrounding the city and so much more. I think Roman is obligated to Top 5 with me, since he IS in the city where High Fidelity was filmed. ☺

4. I’m in the middle of moving and it’s prompting me to go through all of my stuff. I’ve heard people say that you should give away 30% of your possessions each year, and I definitely agree. In fact I’d like to give away more! I want to keep my life portable because I intend on traveling a lot throughout my life, so I must leave my pack-ratting days behind.

I have a TON of paper—notes, bank statements, and so many other unless sheets of paper from the pre e-statement age. I’m going to type up all of my paper notes and am thinking about scanning all paper documents that I don’t really need. Is that the best route to go? Tell me what you think, or if you have a better method for downsizing your life. Also, being an English major and avid word enthusiast I have a TON of books. I need to plant lots and lots of trees to balance it all out. ;)

5. I’ve always enjoyed Dave Matthews Band and their music videos but only recently have I finally sat down and taken the time to look into their career. I was amazed and have been very much inspired by their path and by their charitable measures. I am completely enamored and have a great deal of respect for them as individuals, and hopefully I’ll get to catch them live or meet them someday. ☺

Speaking about bands who do wonderful things, I just checked the results for the 30 Seconds to Mars auction and they raised over $8,000! Lovely!

Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity: 30 Seconds to Mars

You still have two days to bid on a wonderful eBay auction put out by Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity. Hollywood is all about helping people out these days and 30 Seconds to Mars is stepping up to the plate. If you win this auction you and a guest (both over the age of 16) will have the opportunity to win a chance to build a home alongside Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, and Tomo Milicevic of 30 Seconds to Mars and their family and friends. That’s it—just the 10 of you! Pretty neat if you ask me. Don’t let time run out--winning this experience! There are two listings so don't be discouraged if you don't win one! The build will take place in Los Angeles, CA next Wednesday, June 25, 2008.

Top 5 - Week 4

By Tiana on June 13 2008 at 2:00 PM

1. School is out! Summer school starts in a few weeks for me, and I’m very excited! I was also admitted into an advanced poetry writing class in the fall AND I just found out I am also admitted to the advanced class in fiction! I had to submit work to each class and the directors select whom they work with, so I’m shocked that they see something in me! I’m REALLY excited for this upcoming school year! I get to workshop my writing under an award-winning author and poet. It’s nice to be able to take classes I love toward my degree.
2. It’s almost father’s day! I hope you all have a nice one. Take your dad out to do something he loves, or have a nice relaxing day in. ☺ Either way, enjoy it!
3. Design for Humanity is a wonderful charity division of Billabong and they recently had a fundraiser/concert/art/fashion show! I wasn’t able to attend, but I won a contest with their organization and the lovely people over at DFH sent me a bunch of goodies. They rock! Check them out sometime.
4. I have always worked extensively with children. I don’t necessarily want to become a full-time teacher but I love inspiring them as often as I can, and they often inspire me. I love their energy and uninhibited nature—they often remind us of things we forget as we grow older and they have no filter so they just say what they feel and I love it. This past school year I helped teach 3rd-5th graders poetry lessons. There was one girl in particular that I encouraged to go up in front of the class to read her work. She was soft-spoken and shy but produced wonderful poems, and slowly became confident in her writing. Toward the end she seemed very comfortable with her work and really came out of her shell. On our last day there the kids were running around, asking for all of our autographs and i signed their papers with little notes like "you rock!" "poetry rules!" "keep writing!" i think i told her "you're brilliant! keep writing!" then walked away to sign other children's notebooks. She came back to me, tucked a folded up piece of paper into my hand and gave me another hug. I opened it up once I had left the classroom and it said "tiana i will always rimember you!"

Talk about heartmelting! This is why I love what I do. I'm going to continue working with kids throughout the summer and school year, and I might even start teaching them art as well!
5. Last but not least, T.G.I.F. ☺

Top 5 - Week 3

Happy Tuesday! Sorry this is a little late! Hope the day has been well so far, and I hope you know the drill by now. Here we go!

1. Well, unfortunately I’m starting off with some bad news. Someone very close to me is in the hospital right now, a few thousand miles and an ocean away, which has served as yet another reminder to tell everyone you love, that you love them as often as possible. They are supposed to have heart surgery today so I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Hospitals, let alone surgery, really freak me out so I’m trying to just wait until I hear back from those that are actually there.

2. As some of you may know, Kina Grannis is a lovely up and coming musician. She won the Dorito’s Crash the Superbowl Contest where the music video for her song "Message From Your Heart" was played during the Super Bowl Commercials and she won a record deal! She posts covers and original songs often on her YouTube account and recently covered John Mayer’s (whom I adore) song, “Say”, from the film The Bucket List (and what appropriate timing that I come across this). At the end of the song she mentions that she is preparing for a marathon with Team In Training which supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Good music AND supporting a good cause? Very awesome in my book. She talks about it around 3:17 minutes.

3. Thanks to Facebook I was notified of an eBay auction going on right now! Music For Relief is auctioning off a bunch of goodies to help the survivors of cyclone Nargis in Myanmar/Burma. They're including VIP tickets and experiences with Linkin Park, Rilo Kiley, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart! Check it out right here!

4. Speaking of music, my favorite song at the moment:Yael Naim’s “New Soul.” I am in love with the music video too! Have a look, and listen. ☺

5. Sex And The City will be watched at some point this week. I can’t wait! It really is a good excuse for a girls night out. We’ve been waiting for this movie to come out for how long?! Too long!

Alright, I've got to get out of the library before they kick me out. Top 5 with me! We can top 5 everything!

My Top 5 - Week 2

By Tiana on May 28 2008 at 12:00 PM

Happy Wednesday! As promised in my post last week here is this week’s Top 5!

1. First things first—I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! That’s one good way to start your week off on the right foot! Hopefully you had the day off and enjoyed some delicious barbeque. Hooray for food and sleeping in! This week should go by pretty fast and soon enough it’ll be the weekend, and then June! This year is passing by so quickly, isn’t it?

2. My friend’s mother, who is such a vibrant and hardworking individual, gave birth to a healthy baby girl this past Tuesday! ☺ Labor and pregnancy have always freaked me out (I’m a wimp!) but I’ve been surrounded by so many woman through their pregnancies lately and holding baby Stephanie and watching her gaze into her new world put me at ease. I can see myself being a mommy someday, but I’m getting ahead of myself. I need to snag a good guy first!

3. I love all of our new bloggers on board and it’s so exciting to have so many people involved in our effort and support us! I love hopping on the site and being greeted by the lovely Kim Kardashian, Hayden Panettiere, our friends at Seventeen, Global Giving, and so many others whom have contributed to our effort! Thanks for all that you’re doing and let’s continue to spread good. ☺

4. I can’t stop reading! I’ve found myself unable to leave Borders and Barnes and Noble and couldn’t help but pick up a few books. I love the bargain book section. I’ve picked up so many short story and poetry anthologies for a mere $3! Speaking of books, I was recently introduced to Library Project which is an organization that donates books and libraries to under financed schools and orphanages in the developing world. This sounds like a wonderful cause, and seems to be somewhat similar to First Book. With all that I’m reading I’ll definitely need to hop on Eco-Libris and plant a few trees!

5. The season finale of LOST. It’s one of my favorite shows, and though I’m not looking forward to the cliffhanger, I am excited to see how they’re going to wrap up this season and am ready for the months I’ll have to re-watch and analyze things! If you don’t watch it, you have this entire summer to catch up! They stream episodes on their website! DO IT!

Okay have a wonderful week everyone and Top 5 with me!

Cheers,
Tiana

My Top 5 - Week 1

By Tiana on May 19 2008 at 12:00 PM

High Fidelity is one of my all-time favorite films and John Cusack makes me want to Top 5 everything in my life. If you’re unfamiliar with this classic, check out this wonderful little snippet:

So each week I vow to Top 5 whatever is on my mind, inspiring me, or simply keeping me smiling. Ready?!

1. I work with this wonderful non-profit organization entitled Life Rolls On, whose aim is to raise awareness and funds for spinal cord injury related research and programs. They host a program called They Will Surf Again (T.W.S.A.) and on May 10th they were in Florida. They got 29 injured surfers back out in the water and had a record 175 volunteers! It is a truly wonderful cause and they have events every few months. I will keep you posted on happenings!

2. I know Earth Day was a few weeks ago, but I’ve been on an Incubus high—they are my absolute favorite band—and recently found out the auction the Make Yourself Foundation held raised over $8,000!!! It makes me happy to know that my favorite band has the same visions as I do in helping others and making this world a lovely place. Yup!

3. I am in love with my school’s Creative Writing Program. I've been attending readings and making more friends and I’m just in love. I feel like I’m supposed to be there and it’s such a great feeling. To study and do what you love is so fulfilling. I hope everyone is following their heart because doors you didn't know existed really do open when you least expect it.

4. It’s almost summer! The weather has been so strange lately. It rained last week then it heat up into the 70s/80s! Oh SoCal, I still love you. I just don’t know what to wear! It was hot Saturday too but I had the best cup of frozen yogurt from Yogurtland. If you haven't been, you need to mosey on over to a Yogurtland near you. You can’t go wrong at .30 cents an ounce, an array of flavors, and all the toppings your little heart desires. I try to stay under $4 but it’s hard what with all I put in my deliciously unhealthy concoction. ☺

5. With all the mayhem going on in the world it makes me think about how much we need to appreciate those around us, as well as be prepared for an emergency. I think California is due for a big earthquake soon and I still don’t have a kit completely put together! I need one for both home and car. The Red Cross offers some great advice for every situation and every person, including those with disabilities. Check it out here.

Try Top 5-ing your life with me each week! It’s fun! :]

Yahoo!'s "Free is Good" Initiative

Yahoo!'s "Free is Good" Initiative

Earth Day is nearing and our friends over at Yahoo! are focusing on one of the most important themes of environmentalism: reuse! Beginning Tuesday, April 22nd, Yahoo! will be highlighting a “Free is Good” microsite that features Freecycle and other Reuse organizations that utilize Yahoo! Groups to provide a way for people to give and receive “free” goods from their neighbors within their local communities.

And between April 20th and May 4th, Yahoo! will “hide” special prizes in randomly selected Freecycle and other reuse groups. The prizes will specifically be eco-friendly in nature, but range from a Smart car, organic food delivery, an eco-resort trip, concert tickets to Sheryl Crow, and who doesn't need toilet paper!? It doesn't stop there! In addition to these goodies they will also be featuring real stories from real people who have found some real “treasures” on Freecycle!

So this Earth Day, as you work by natural lighting, hop into your hybrid car (or ease up on your gas and break peddle if you don't have one), and spread the message of being environmentally conscious, think about ways you can implement the idea of reuse in your daily life.

With so many incentives Yahoo! and reuse groups are sure to influence people across the world with a fun and “free” way to be green not only on Earth Day but throughout the year. Yahoo! will also be launching localized sites this coming weekend in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Australia.
